Triumph tank back from paint

Check out a couple more at www.triumphbobber.blogspot.com
I woke up at 3 am thinking about the bike and wondering if I should've had the rear fender painted to match. I've decieded to leave it black and I'll get some black Triumph decals off of Ebay to tie it all together. Taking the rear fender off is a matter of a like 6 bolts but in order to get to those bolts the rear wheel needs to be removed and to do that the chain has to be pulled. It'd be a pain to do right now (bike is in lower garage, no heat or power) and I don't really have that kind of cash layin around to throw at it. Good for now. New petcocks to go in as well.

This Old House

This is what's coming up for the lower bathroom. It'll be a semi-complete gut job. Removing old tiled shower from 1964 down to studs, removing/replacing vanity and toliey. Tiled floor will be removed and looking into heated tiles since it's cold concrete below. Professionals were over last night eyein up the shower since the floor pan will have to be redone to today's standards along w/ some plumbing. I'll demo the shower but they'll do the new pan, make it waterproof, and tile'r up. I'll need to rip out the ceiling to install an exhaust fan and new light, maybe w/ some heat. This will be bathroom remodel number two for this house...the first took place in between last Turkey day and Jesus' Birthday and turned out ok...the only bitch part was tight area and trying not to screw up the carpet and luggin shit from out in the cold to inside. taking measurements from inside, running out to the garage and cutting drywall or tile and then coming back inside. That's when an attached garage would come in super handy. Maybe someday....(Ahhhh gaze upwards and insert dreamy harp music) and to have a nice size basement w/ a workout room, bar, darts, ping pong table, plasma tv and poker table. A guy can dream can't he. Anyways I'll post some pics if we ever get the broken camera back from Nikon. Tor took it back to Sears the day after xmas and they in turn sent it to Nikon and Nikon said it was out of warranty by one day and they will not cover the cost to repair. Gotta love it.

Not so much bloggin

Couple of reasons for less bloggin...
-Busier at work since black Friday, I think the notion that you can be cut from the team at any time re lit some fires
-Not too much really going on that's note worthy with the really cold weather that has been upon us lately
So here's my thoughts for today...
Friday - worked out, picked up some grub & a vid on way home, chilled
Sat - Bike ride was fun, a bit of a white knuckler, talked cars for good portion...good time
Sat day - X games nutty
Sat nite - Bowling - first two sucked, third game I was finally coming around
Sun - X games, holy crashes! Anyone seem the skier's racing? wow.
Sun late aft - XC sking at TA, snow was a bit slow but good to get outside
Tori's car goes to be fixed tonight...we've been sharing the Jeep...she doesn't like that it gets like 12 mpg. She can't believe it really.
Insurance dude sent some bathroom investigators up from brew town and the outcome isn't great. Shower will need to be completely removed and redone (tile)...and of course it's not covered. The wall and carpet are so that's good.
No word on IL guy on Triumph...no biggie...I bought it to get me back and fourth to work/home cause the Jp a little pig sometimes. Tank should be done this week I'd guess...I'll post a link to pics when that happens. They're still going for good dollars on Ebay.
Jim still has the road bike...I'm still hoping to get the new one in like 6 weeks.
Going to wash car today on way to gym.
Workout 2 or just cardio tonight....no treadmill. Shin and Knee are not right yet. (both right leg hmmm)
Til next time.

If it was easy...

Anyone could do it. This is one of the many saying's that keep going through my head lately. Like Ladies Lover Cool Jay said, if the scale doesn't show you what you want, look at how your clothes are fitting. I think I hit "stop point" on the scale. It's been fluctuating up and down for the past couple of days...just a hump in the road to success. (I think of the Micheal j fox movie whenever I spell that, seen it? S-U-CC-E-SS that's the way we spell success) The lowest I've seen is 212 on the work scale and today it's 217 so I'm bouncing around which normally happens to me before I go up or continue down. I think I get reassessed next week. Gotta get some serious carido in.
So last night I was lifting doing my workout 2 and I was doing the cable row machine and was really going at it when I felt a sharp shooting pain in my lower back! Shit. Had to stop and didn't cool down...just left. I was tired, hungry (could' t stop thinking about what I was going to have for dinner) and now in pain. Picked up Tor and headed home. Popped 2 pills w/ my protein drink and Meat & Tomato sauce, some rotini pasta for tori, and I just but the sauce over lettuce, carrots, and corn topped w/ pepper and salsa.
I feel better today...little sore but not too bad. Tonight I'm gonna just bike and ellipitcal it. These are both designed to be low impact and they are but serve up some serious sweat making if you push yourself. That's another thing... Why the hell bother w/ going to a gym if you're just gonna go really slow and read a mag???? I think some of these people are retarded I'm sorry. I know I don't give 1000 percent each time but at least I go....some people go in and out of that place just to what say you went there? and are probably the same folk that complain that don't lose anything. Guess what? You get out what you put in. Bust a sweat....it may hurt a little but what doesn't. Bugs me.
What else is new?
Co worker may be the roadie then I'll have to get another
Triumph tank is out for paint
Bathroom is still being investigated
Kitchen remodel after bath remodel
Gotta get back on the XC ski's soon, hopefully this weekend
Tor's Audi is in the shop...she's looking at new cars now
Need to score a deal on a snowblower this spring
That's all for now

Cold Ass Weekend

With temps hanging around zero and wind chills in the negative twenties I decided not to go on the SMBRide. A couple braved the conditions which can be seen on Dano's page, there's a link on the top right.
Not that this is an excuse but this is my first year participating on the winter rides so I'm not completely geared up for these temps...single digits I've done, -24 I can not. Plus I've been having quite a bit of mechanical issues of late and a frozen ride would've left me stranded as one did on the ride, sorry it happened but I'm glad it wasn't me. Next year I should have the necessary layers.
So what's been going on? Well I've been trying to unload the Triumph to pay off some debt and start refocusing on the Stang. I'm still going to try for June of 2009. My dad's car is having some touch up work done so I asked him if I could have my tank painted the same color with his left overs if there was any to be left...he said sure and it'll run me half the cost since he had to buy the material anyways. So I dropped off the tank at the body shop yesterday morning on my way to the fitness center. Yeah instead of biking I went and lifted weights and rode the stationary bikes. I think today I'm gonna try running or else the Elliptical. I could do workout 1 (chest, shoulders, back) but today I think it will not be as busy as tomorrow, so I should take advantage of the machines. I liked to run as I get the best sweat from this but my left shin is really hurting.
The other thing I've been doing in the last couple of days is watching the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction on Speed Network. Pretty cool...I watch to get a feel of prices since I have a restomod...prices have dropped since last year. Oh well. Must be the economy as a whole.
Anyways - Big Game tonight.
Go Pack Go.

Run Forest Run

So last night I was able to get back to gym w/out any distractions.
(last Friday 8 people at work were let go and Monday I just couldn't get into it)
I've been itching for a good sweat since Thursday of last and after getting off the treadmill I had a pretty good one. So last night was just cardio...
Bike 20
Core
Stretch
Treadmill - walk 3 run 10 walk 3 run 10 walk 5
Bike 10 - done
This was the first time I was able to run this long...I knocked down the speed to 7.5 and this helped as well as the shorts. I just have to remember a head band for next time.
Hopefully weight lifting tonight

Update

Friday - 8 people were let go at my company due to a restructure. I was freaking out. No one is safe. NO one.
Friday after work went to work out but my mind was racing, my stomach was empty and my head hurt. Went down like...
Bike 10 heart rate barely up
Core - Min Effort
Work out 1 - Benched 3 sets and stopped.
Went home shoveled a little and then went out to eat.
Saturday Morning Bfast ride was ok. Weather was real good, barely any wind. Rode from home to the meeting place.
Beach was smoooooth. Very cool. My bike on the other hand was not. Chain kept locking up and I got a flat.
I didn't eat or drink anything before the ride so I was having a hard time towards the end.
Saturday late afternoon - went to Tori's Uncle and Aunt's house for the Packer game.
Saturday night - had couples bowling. I sucked (kinda drunk) .
Then we went out in Falls.
Sunday I did nothing but felt real down and out. I was disappointed in myself for drinking that much and smoking. It's really not a huge deal but kind of just felt like a major set back. I couldn't help but be pissed at my self. I didn't like it at all and couldn't eat anything until 2 pm.
Today is a new day. I'm still trying to be way positive but w/ all going on it's hard. I kind of just feel real tired. I may not lift tonight and just do cardio to get my heart rate up and get a really really good sweat going. I think that will help a boat load. I also will be dropping my bike off at the LBS to get that taken care of too. Tomorrow morning I have to meet w/ a master plumber to get a quote on a sump pump (and pit) put in at my rental. Hopefully it's not more than a grand cause I've had my eye on a new road bike for spring and this could really screw things up. We'll have to see how it all unfolds.

Some gain w/ some pain

Last night had me on the treadmill...another one of those nights where I was a bit hungry and agitated by the number of people in there. It was so nice before xmas and now the wave of resolutionaries has begun along with the children staying after school. I was not able to get really into it for a couple of minutes but hung in there. All the bikes were occupied when I arrived so I tried walking on the treadmill for a warm up...that sucked. Waited a few min for a bike to open then proceeded w/ the norm routine.
Bike 11, Core, Runners Stretch,
Treadmill; walk 4, run 11, walk 3 run 4, walk 7, done
Bike 10
Real good sweat, glad I pushed through to the end...almost got up and said forget it but didn't.
Had a serious pain in the shin while running...shin splint I think...will have to look that up to see how to avoid those - ouch.
Legs are cashed today...neck is stiff and won't pop/crack...back is stiff as well.
Workout 1 tonight.
Temps are warming up this weekend...will have to clear the ends of the gutters to make way for the melting snow.
Wondering how the SMBRide will be tomorrow.
Shermann Sleeping...it's a ruff life for our pets I tell ya

Happy New Year

Jan 2nd, 2008 - back to the norm...glad to be back...days will slowly start to get longer...more riding time. Yesterday I participated in the New Years day Retro Ride although I did not have anything really retro besides what I wear from a day to day basis. Started on the south side and worked our way north to watch the Polar Bears take the plunge. This was the first time in my 30 years seeing the bears take a dip. Was a good time.
Tonight's it's back to the gym.
